2007 Vermonter Poll Final Reports Since 1990, the Center for Rural Studies at the University of Vermont has conducted twelve, state-wide polls of registered Vermont residents (1990, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007). The 2007 Vermonter Poll is a unique opportunity for researchers, policy makers, social advocates, and citizens to examine changes in public opinion regarding contemporary, and often controversial issues in the public arena. Vermonter Poll 2007 Methodology Vermonter Poll I This data were collected by the Center for Rural Studies at the University of Vermont between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. beginning on February 20, 2007 and ending on February 28, 2007. The telephone polling was conducted from the University of Vermont using computer-aided telephone interviewing (CATI). The sample for the poll was drawn through random digit dialing and simple random sampling and used all of the telephone exchanges in the state of Vermont as the sampling frame. Only Vermont residents over the age of eighteen were interviewed. There were 599 respondents to the 2007 Vermonter Poll - Version I. The results based on a group of this size have a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent at a confidence interval of 95 percent.
Vermonter Poll II The data used in this report were collected by the Center for Rural Studies at the University of Vermont as part of the annual Vermonter Poll. The survey was conducted between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. beginning on February 26, 2007 and ending on March 8, 2007. The telephone polling was conducted from the University of Vermont using computer-aided telephone interviewing (CATI). The sample for the poll was drawn through random digit dialing and simple random sampling and used all of the telephone exchanges in the state of Vermont as the sampling frame. Only Vermont residents over the age of eighteen were interviewed. There were 595 respondents to the 2007 Vermonter Poll - Version II.
