The Common Roots Program Reconnecting Schools to the Cultural and Natural Heritage of their Community
Common Roots is an imaginative and successful guided inquiry process for schools to design their own K-6 integrated science curricula based on the story of each community.
Its a common sense approach to learning that gives educators a clear focus by asking critical questions about the needs of the students, the family, the school, the community and the natural environment.
The program provides an opportunity to engage the natural curiosity of all students by exploring our natural and cultural heritage (through Historic Theme Gardens and Schoolyard Habitats) in order to create a sustainable future.
