He specializes in outreach and technical assistance in support of local decision-making activities in Vermont, including municipal government, community planning, and local entrepreneurship. His activities include project management, outreach and training, community profiling, data analysis, grant management, and survey design and implementation. |

CRS ACTIVITIES AND PROJECTS
Indicators for Vermont Communities
Program management for design and development of CRS community data resources,
including Vermont Indicators Online.
U.S. Census Bureau Vermont State Data Center
Act as manager to oversee provision of U.S. Census data and technical assistance to state, regional, and local governments,
and non-governmental data users. Provide data and updates to coordinating and affiliate agencies in the State Data Center network.
Produce online Census data resources, including Municipal Population Estimates and Statewide Population Projections.
Resources for Local Entrepreneurship
Manage outreach, technical assistance, research
and training in support of
local entrepreneurship in Vermont. Special focus on small agricultural operations and ventures.
Community Planning Tools for Vermont
Manage statewide outreach and oversee development and subcontracts concerning new data tools for Vermont planners, including
the Vermont Planning Information Center
and Community Build Out Analysis Software.
Municipal E-Government Outreach
Provide outreach and training on municipal websites and oversee other initiatives that address the use and management of
information technology in Vermont's municipal government.
Municipal Official Education and Professional Development
Prepare and present town officer development workshops on Town Reports, U.S. Census data, etc. Play active role in the
annual Municipal Officer Management Seminars and Town Officer Education Conferences.
Community Profiles
Create reports on natural, built, human and social capital of Vermont towns.
Overall Program and Grant Management
Development of grant proposals, including identification of client groups, assessment of needs, creation of collaborative
agreements, and formulation of strategies for addressing aforementioned client needs. Oversight for budgetary allocations,
purchases, and subcontracts.
Steering Committee Chair (July 2004 - present) of
the Vermont Land Use Education and Training Collaborative - a statewide
organization with the mission of coordinating training resources for local land use officials in Vermont.
Member (2005 - 2006) and Board Member (2006) of The St. Albans Rotary Club - a local
and international community service organization.
Downtown Promotion Chair and Board Member (2003 - 2006) of St. Albans For the Future - the downtown development organization in St. Albans, VT
Oversaw efforts to educate the public on the role of Downtown St. Albans as the center of commerce, culture, and
community life for the greater St. Albans area and Franklin County as a whole.
Town Plan Assistant to Worcester (VT) Planning Commission, April 2001 - April 2002
Design, implement, and analyze town planning survey.
Perform updates and revisions to Worcester Municipal Plan.
Assist in preparation and conduct of town planning community focus groups.
Assist in the writing of Municipal Planning Grant application.
