Evaluating Signatron Technology's Program
"High Speed Internet Access Using Wireless OTH Data Communications"
The Center for Rural Studies will be conducting an evaluation of Signatron Technology's program "Low Cost, High Speed Rural Internet Access Using Wireless OTH Data Communications". The program will use "Over The Horizon" (OTH) radio technology to bring a high speed internet connection to five high schools in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. For more information on OTH and this project visit the Signatron WWW Site.
The program has objectives that relate to the technical performance and quantification of operational cost of the OTH equipment and also objectives that address the users' perception of the value of the network as well as applications supported by the technology. The OTH data links will be technically evaluated by Signatron, and the qualitative measures of the network will be evaluated by the Center for Rural Studies.
