The Enhancing Community Awareness project was formed to educate communities in order to strengthen youth and families. A variety of resources funds the project: USDA federal funds, Vermont Extension System matching funds, Community matching funds, local businesses, community committee generated grant funds, RREA, AmeriCorps, and fees. The towns of Hardwick, Barton, Canaan, Brighton, Lunenberg, Concord, and Barnet have participated in the open discussion, activity planning, and implementation of ECA. Some activities which have sprung from their meetings are parent/youth groups, summer camps, and school projects. Schools, the Council on Humanities, Churches, community businesses and organizations, the community action agency, the National Commission on Community Service, and many others organizations are collaborated with in the ECA grant.
