Honduras Conservation Corps (CCH), is an organization of youth and adults dedicated to the improvement of the environment. CCH began its work in 1998 after Hurricane Mitch caused severe damage to Hondruas. CCH is a program that offers opportunities to learn and practice important skills in environmental conservation. The leaders of CCH are women and men who live and work in thier communities. In June 2002, the project Info-Rural, Computers for Communities , was developed to train CCH and other community members in basic computing skills (Work, Excel, Power Point) and to establish Infocentros or Centers of Information Technology in rural locations. To date, there are six Infocentros in Hondruas equipped with one computer and printer. The locations include: 1. Comayagua, Comayagua 2. Siguatepeque, Comayagua 3. Gracias, Lempira 4. Yorito, Yoro 5. Yoro, Yoro, and 6. Omoa, Cortes. At
present, 81 people, including children, youth and adults have been
trained in basic computer skills. One of the objectives of each local CCH is to continue holding these courses to the members of their communities.
