ELECTRONIC RECORDS MANAGEMENT IN VERMONT

COMPUTER AND DATA SAFETY PLAN FOR MUNICIPAL OFFICES IN VERMONT

The Electronic Records Management Working Group has identified computer and data safety as a key priority. The group has drafted a plan that municipalities can follow to help prevent the loss or corruption of electronic records and to provide for recovery options if damage or theft does occur.

This Computer and Data Safety Plan for Municipal Offices in Vermont is currently being maintained and updated by the Center for Rural Studies, under the guidance of the Working Group. This is meant to be a dynamic working document that can keep up with changes in technology and its use in Vermont's many municipal governments. Please check this website often to stay apprised of updates.

The current version of the plan was updated on 09/13/02. Please view this update and share your comments with the group by emailing crs@uvm.edu
