> Journal Keeping

AT A JOURNAL WORKSHOP, by Ira Progoff (1975, 320 pp., $7.95),
     Dialogue House, 80 East 11th Street, New York, NY 10003.

     Describes Progoff's intensive journal technique, including the
specialized journal sections he has identified as being
particularly useful.  In a followup book, THE PRACTICE OF PROGRESS
MEDITATION (1980, 343 pp., $7.95), Progoff gives a method for
psychological self-care that has an essentially spiritual base.


THE NEW DIARY, by Tristine Rainer (1979, 320 pp., $5.95), J. P.
     Tarcher, 9110 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90006.

     Presents a system for keeping journals, beginning fairly
simply and progressing to more advanced, specialized techniques. 
Includes discussions of the relationship of journal keeping to
creative processes and to psychotherapy.


ONE-TO-ONE, by Christine Baldwin (1979, 186 pp., $3.95), M. Evans

     Introduces the journal process, starting with basics and
proceeding to an in-depth discussion of some of the key personal
areas in which journals can be effective.
