FACILITATOR OBSERVATION SHEET
Use this sheet with the exercise, "Feedback for Facilitators," to
record facilitator behaviors. More complete descriptions of the
behaviors are found on the sheet titled "The Facilitator's Role."
INSTRUCTIONS
Put the name of each facilitator in the first row. Place a tally
mark in the appropriate box each time a facilitator exhibits the
behavior indicated.

1. Keep meeting focused:
Points out when discussion has drifted
Re-states the original topic
2. Clarifies and accepts communication:
Summarizes a contribution
Relates ideas
Points out when someone has been cut off
and invites them to continue.
3. Accepts feelings as valid data; summarizes
feelings.
4. States a problem in a constructive way:
Re-states problem to eliminate blame-fixing
States problems, not solutions
Helps clarify areas for decisionmaking
