Writing A Business Plan 101

Note for Users: This project and its content were completed in 1997. At this time, there are no existing plans to update the materials.

This business plan profile was developed as part of a Northeast Kingdom Initiative AmeriCorps assignment by Kate McCann, working in cooperation with Sharon Hearne and the MicroBusiness Development Program in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. It is designed to be a user-friendly resource for developing your own business plan. The profile is Vermont-made, with input from Vermont banks and businesses, provided by the MicroBusiness Development Program.  Local involvement allowed us to address some of the nuances of microbusiness development in this state. Special attention was paid to the needs of low-income entrepreneurs.

A variety of sources where used in compiling this outline including, a Small Business Administration (SBA) formatted Business Plan Outline, Vermont Entrepreneur's Manual (VEM), and the MicroBusiness Development Program (MBDP) in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. The material is reproduced and some sources are unknown.
