Census of Agriculture
The USDA Census of Agriculture is conducted every five years and contains data down to the county level. Below you may view state, county, and national highlights from the 1987, 1992, 1997 and 2002 Census of Agriculture Geographic Area Series. For more detailed agricultural statistics, visit the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service or the USDA Economics and Statistics System.The Center for Rural Studies has also produced the 2005 Agricultural Handbook for Vermont Counties [320 kb pdf file].
This resource relies heavily on the 2002 Census of Agriculture but also includes past data and information from other sources.
